How to make the most out of your travel system

How to make the most of your travel system

Are you in and out of the car a lot when taking your little one with you? A travel system can be the perfect solution when running errands with your baby. By simply clicking your child car seat onto the stroller, you don’t have to wake your little one up when sleeping in the seat. In order to make the most out of your travel system, we have collected our best tips on accessories and what to pay attention to when using a travel system.

What should a baby car seat have in order to be used in a travel system?

1. It should fit to your stroller

Whether a baby car seat can be used for a travel system of course depends on if it fits onto your pushchair of choice. BeSafe baby car seats for instance can be clicked onto almost all popular pushchairs on the market by using car seat adapters. Please find the list of tested pushchairs here also:

2. It should protect your child from wind and sunlight

As your child is much more exposed to sunlight and wind when being out with a travel system, you should pick a baby car seat that features a low reaching sun canopy with a high SPF.

The BeSafe iZi Go Modular i-Size makes sure to protect your child no matter where you are going. Its especially low reaching sun canopy keeps sun beams off your child even in the low winter sun, while the SPF of 50+ featured in the sun canopy makes sure to keep your child protected during the powerful summer sun. The ventilation strip at the back of the sun canopy helps your little one to be comfortable in their baby car seat at any time.

3. It should provide the highest levels of safety when used in a travel system or similar

When using a double-stroller in which a sibling can lie beneath the baby car seat, we strongly recommend you to use a baby car seat that prohibits another child from accessing the belt straps from below.

By featuring an improved harness protection on the back, the BeSafe iZi Go Modular i-Size prevents siblings from accessing the belt straps of the baby car seat and thereby no harm can be done to the baby.

How can I protect my baby in a travel system during colder days?

When out with your child during cold days, we recommend you to have them wear socks and mittens made of wool as well as clothes that are close and snug to their body.

To make sure that your child is perfectly comfortable in their BeSafe baby car seat, we recommend using footmuffs that are tailor-made for infant carriers. Their back openings and pre-cut holes allow the harness to be placed in its correct position on the inside. As these footmuffs are closed above the harness, no thick layer is added in between your child and the seat’s harness. Find out more!

BeSafe’s sister brand Voksi® offers a wide range of high-quality Scandinavian footmuffs. Voksi® products are made of high-quality materials produced according to the Oeko-Tex 100 standard. You can find more information on www.voksi.com

What is important to remember when using a travel system?

We at BeSafe advise you to make sure that you are not keeping your child in a baby car seat for too long – no matter if it is inside the car or in a travel system. For example a baby’s back is not made for sitting curved for too long and we therefore recommend you to take your baby out of the car seat every 1 ½ to 2 hours and even more frequent for new-borns. A travel system is not intended to replace a pushchair – instead, it can be a flexible solution when hopping in and out of the car frequently. Please talk to your child’s health centre for more information and guidance.
