How to clean your BeSafe car seat

No matter if you need to clean your seat after a mishap or you just want to freshen it up: here are our tips and instructions on how to clean your BeSafe seat.

WHAT TO DO

Fabric cover

Belts, buckles and other surfaces

  • Wipe them off with a damp cloth and a mild soap
  • You can also rub them if needed
  • Let the seat dry off in the sun. This helps to remove bad smells

Foam cushion (in the sitting area beneath the cover)

  • Hand wash it in cold water with some mild soap if needed
  • Let it air dry in the sun if possible, or otherwise on a flat surface indoors
  • Note that not all seats are equipped with this

PAD+

  • Hand wash it in warm water with some mild soap if needed
  • Let it air dry in the sun if possible, or otherwise on a flat surface indoors
  • Note that not all seats are equipped with this

Lapbelt guider

  • Being an integral part of the seat, the lapbelt guider cannot be removed
  • It can be wiped off with a damp cloth and mild soap
  • If you want to clean it more, you can build a construction to have the seat upside down and then let the lapbelt guider soak in a bowl of water and mild soap. Let it try upside down as well
  • Note that not all seats are equipped with this

If you wish to go beyond these cleaning instructions, this is done under your personal responsibility, as other substances might have long-term effects on for example flame retardant treatments or the structure of the materials.

WHAT NOT TO DO

  • Do not spray, wipe or rub any part of the seat with disinfection substances
  • Do not use aggressive soaps, detergents or other cleaning products
  • Do not use bleach, laundry sanitizer, rubbing alcohol or essential oils
  • Do not get the seat wet by cleaning it in the shower or using a high-pressure cleaner or garden hose
