BeSafe iZi Twist M i-Size in ADAC’s spring test 2023

Update published: 23th May 2023

iZi Twist M i-Size was tested in ADAC’s spring test 2023 and we are proud of the strong safety performance, with 5/5 in safety rating.

As informed 11th of May (below), a low level of naphtalene was detected in the seat. The level is below the strict Oeko-Tex 100 standard (used for baby clothing), but slightly above the ADAC limit. Despite of the strong safety result, the seat was downgraded in the ADAC test.

For us at BeSafe the safety of our children is fundamental, and the most important aspect of everything we do. Extensive quality and safety testing is part of our daily work.

Unfortunately, our strict testing program shows low levels of the organic compound naphthalene in a few batches of the airbag warning label used on iZi Twist M i-Size. Even though the findings are very low, they are above our limits.

The level does not pose any health risk and is lower than the limits set by OEKO-TEX for baby clothing. The OEKO-TEX 100 standard is a worldwide standard for textiles, known for its strict limits and test procedures that are in many cases stricter than national and international requirements. It is confirmed by independent scientific experts that there is no health risk related to this. Therefore, there is no need to exchange the fabric cover or take any other actions.

We discontinued the type of label used on iZi Twist M i-Size already in Autumn 2022, and we are now using a completely different type of label.

The safety of the car seat is not impacted, and by choosing a BeSafe seat, you have chosen one of the safest options for your child.

We are sorry for this inconvenience. Please reach out to us if you have any questions.
